About Us

Magic Cove Touring Park was opened in July 1981 by Stan & Betty Marshall. Stan was known as Cornwall's Tallest Magician, hence the name Magic Cove. In 2003 management of the site passed to Lesley (Stan & Betty's daughter). The site has been both owned and managed since 2007 by Lesley and her husband Brian.

The Area

Situated in Mawgan Porth, being mid-way between Newquay and Padstow on the North Cornish Coast, Magic Cove offers a central base if you wish to make trips to anywhere in Cornwall, as seen from our Location Map.

On the other hand, if you prefer to stay put, you will only be a 300 yard level walk from the beach, which offers safe bathing and surfing under lifeguard supervision, rock pools and fine sand for just lazing around!

Our Facilities

Magic Cove is a small friendly site with 18 pitches (no seasonal pitches), all of which provide electric hook-up. The site is level with a tarmac surface leading to grass pitches and is situated 40 yards back from the road in a sheltered position, making it secluded and safe for children.

Mobile phone signal at the site is virtually non-existent, however, we do offer FREE WiFi to all of our customers (see Pitch Fees for more information). UPDATE: A new mast was installed in 2021which allows 02 and Vodafone 4G signal to the site.

The toilet block is kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Hot and cold water is provided for all basins/sinks and the tiled shower cubicles operate on 20 pence meters. Water standpipes and drains for disposing of washing water etc. are adjacent to each pitch. A central point for disposal of chemical toilet contents is a maximum of 50 yards from any pitch.

Our Launderette has 2 washing machines (£3 per wash) & 1 tumble dryer with washing up facilities (2 sinks), a payphone and information. An iron and ironing board is also available for free use.

All pitches include a Freesat Satellite Television Point which provides a selection of 180+ channels. If you have your own Freesat box or Sky Box (not Sky Q) then please bring them along with you as these will work. If you have a box where you can record programmes, this will work for you, however you will only be able to record one program and won’t be able to watch another channel while recording. If you don’t have a Freesat or Sky box then we have Freesat boxes that you can borrow for the duration of your stay, free of charge. Please don't forget to hand them back to us at the end of your stay, thank you.

We have a library of books to borrow or swap - this is a free service.

Ice packs can be frozen free of charge.

We also have our own private dog walk area adjoining the Site. Dogs are also allowed on the beach; no need to worry about getting sand everywhere, there is free use of our warm water doggy shower.

We are open from Easter to the end of September. Booking is essential during peak periods.

We receive a very high number of repeat customers and would not be able to advise on availability for next year or take any bookings from new customers until the equivalent dates have gone past this year, availability is going to be extremely limited.
