The site is level with a tarmac surface leading to grass pitches and is situated 40 yards back from the road, making it secluded and safe for children. The toilet block is kept to a high standard of cleanliness with terrazzo floor throughout. Hot and Cold water is provided for all basins/sinks and the tiled shower cubicles operate on 10 pence meters. Water standpipes and drains for disposing of washing water etc are adjacent to each pitch. A central point for disposal of chemical toilet contents is a maximum of 50 yards from any pitch. All Electric Hook-Up pitches include a Television Point - TV Leads available on free loan. Freeview boxes are available to hire at very reasonable rates. Ice Packs Frozen free of charge. We also offer a free battery/mobile phone charging service. Magic Cove is open from Easter to the end of September. Booking is essential during peak periods and due to a large number of repeat bookings, in order to avoid disappointment, please book early. SITUATED in Mawgan Porth, being mid way between Newquay and Padstow on the North Cornish Coast, Magic Cove offers a central base if you wish to make trips to anywhere in Cornwall, as seen from our Location Map. On the other hand, if you prefer to stay put, you will only be a 300 yard level walk from the beach, which offers safe bathing and surfing under lifeguard supervision, rock pools and fine sand for just lazing around! Dogs are allowed on the beach.FACILITIES within 350 Yards:- Sandy Beach, Pitch and Putt, Crazy Golf, Tennis Courts, Shops supplying newspapers, provisions, gifts, beach goods and surfboard/wetsuit hire. A Surf School is also located by the beach for anyone who fancies having a go at surfing. A good selection of food and drink can be found at the local Pubs, Restaurant and Cafe. A Launderette, Sauna & Payphone are Adjacent to the Site. We also have our own dog walk area adjoining the Site. WITHIN EASY REACH Fishing (beach, rock, course), GOLF:- Merlin Driving Range and 18 hole medium length (handicap certificate not required ) (1mile). Trevose Golf and Country Club, 18 and 9 hole (long) plus 9 hole short courses, Newquay 18 hole course (both 5 miles). If walking from Magic Cove, easy access to Cornwall’s coastal footpath or a visit to St Mawgan Village is just 2 miles inland by footpath or road, with it’s Church, Village Green, and The Falcon Inn for liquid refreshment. Bedruthan Steps - 1½ miles, Newquay - 5 miles, Padstow - 7 miles, 18 miles from the South Coast. The Camel Trail, which is part of the National Cycle Network runs between Padstow and Bodmin via Wadebridge. The route uses an old railway line and is predominantly flat throughout. If you are feeling even more adventurous then visit Watergate Bay's Extreme Academy (3 miles) for kite-surfing, mountain-boarding, etc.FRIENDLY SERVICE We have been resident in Mawgan Porth for over 40 years and will be happy to give any information you require, all you have to do is ask. A friendly Butcher calls at the site three times a week, he will provide you with best quality meat and Barbecue specials. On many occasions it has been said that Magic Cove has been the friendliest site people have visited. HOW TO FIND US Keep on A30 until junction signposted for Newquay & Airport. Follow Airport signs to Trekenning roundabout, take 1st exit. Turn right 400 yards past Filling Station (signpost Airport). Continue to T-junction past Airport, Turn right (Mawgan Porth), keep straight on to Mawgan Porth. Turn Right by Pitch 'n' Putt/Crazy Golf (see signpost), 300 Yards, access to MAGIC COVE through small camp site bordering the road on Left.
